After dinner one evening in Galway city, we decided to explore some of the fabulous cathedrals there. The first stop was right down the next street. St. Nicholas -- a church built in the 1300's
When we stepped inside, we could smell the lovely distinctive scent which this old church possessed. It is very close to the smell of a room filled with old books.
The walk to the main cathedral was substantially longer. Fortunately, it was a beautiful walk -- right past the Canal. The green dome in the picture below is the top of the famous Galway Cathedral.
